Dr. Navid Mostofi, is a 1996 graduate of the Beheshti University Medical School in Tehran, Iran. Dr. Mostofi worked as a general practitioner in Iran for five years, and then joined Temple University in Philadelphia for his internship and neurology specialty training. He continued his training at Georgetown University Hospital by completing a fellowship in epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology. He has been in private practice in Northern Virginia and Maryland since 2007, providing care to patients with neurological conditions.
Dr. Mostofi is board certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Georgetown University Hospital, where he lectures neurology residents and fellows concerning new developments in the treatment of epilepsy. He is an active member of the American Academy of Neurology, and is also a staff member in INOVA Fairfax Hospital.
Dr. Mostofi has been awarded by his peers as a Top Doctor in "Washingtonian Magazine" survey in 2017 and "Northern Virginia Magazine" survey in 2018 and 2019. He was selected as Best Teaching Resident during his training in Philadelphia, and has received two awards, Best Resident Teacher (2005) and Best Research Presentation of the Year (2006). He also has conducted and published several research projects regarding the treatment of epilepsy and sleep disorders during his residency and fellowship.
